    An Airport Transfer is usually the safest and most economical method of transportation upon arrival at the destination. After a long journey, lots of luggage and being unfamiliar with new surroundings, being picked up by a chauffeur and taken to the residence/hotel, is both convenient and welcoming.

  • Is bringing a large family and lots of luggage a problem?

    One of the benefits of an Airport Transfer is that there are many size vehicles available. Based on family size and belongings, the appropriate size vehicle is arranged for comfort and safety.

  • Are child seats provided in an Airport Transfer?

    Yes, our suppliers have child seats available when pre-arranged.

  • Is gratuity already included?

    Yes, gratuity is already included in the price.

  • Are pets permitted in the Airport Transfer vehicle?

    Yes. Pets must be placed in their crates for the duration of the ride. The cleanliness of the vehicles is an important part of the service. If the vehicle requires cleaning, there will be an additional charge.

  • How far in advance should an Airport Transfer be requested?

    Authorization requests should be received 14 days prior, to ensure all arrangements are made in time and that the correct size vehicle is available.

  • Are extra stops allowed?

    Yes. Extra stops can be pre-arranged. If an extra stop is needed during the ride, additional charges apply. This is the reason final charges are determined upon service completion.

  • What factors can affect the final charge for an Airport Transfer?

  • What if the flight is delayed?

    Our transfer supplier and the driver will track the flight and its arrival time at the final destination.

A rental car can be used for one day and as long as needed. There are no length restrictions.

Rental FAQ

  • Is it possible to rent a specific make/model?

    Rental cars are reserved by vehicle size. The make/model is based on availability at the time of pick up and cannot be pre-booked. Electric/hybrid vehicles are available at certain locations.

  • Can car seats be provided?

    Most airport locations have car seats, based on availability. Non-airport locations do not. Where car seats are available, it’s at an additional cost. It tends to be more economical to purchase a car seat locally.

  • For long-term rentals, will the rate go down?

    Since ExpatRide has negotiated excellent monthly rates, the monthly rate will stay the same. Daily and weekly rates are calculated at a higher rate.

  • Is it possible to use cash or a debit card for the security deposit?

    Rental offices do not accept cash or debit cards. A credit card is required for the security deposits. Charges not covered by the employer, such as fuel, violations, car seats, and tolls, must be paid via credit card.

  • Is there an age limit for renting a car?

    With the ExpatRide Rental program, a driver must be at least 21 years of age to rent a car in the U.S., at no extra cost. In other countries, the minimum age varies and will come with a Young Driver fee.

  • Can an additional driver be added to the rental agreement in the U.S.?

    Spouse/domestic partner and coworkers can be added as drivers for free. Additional drivers aren't required to be present or show a driver's license at the rental counter, but must possess a valid license. The main driver is liable if any added drivers have invalid licenses.

  • Are pets allowed in the rental car?

    Yes, pets are allowed in rental vehicles, so long as they are in a carrier. The rental car must be returned in clean condition and free of pet hair to avoid cleaning fees. Service animals are not required to be in a carrier.

  • Will there be an additional charge if the rental car is returned late?

    Return the rental car at the same time as pickup to avoid extra charges. Late returns incur hourly fees for up to 3 hours, then a daily rate. After-hours returns using a key drop box end the agreement the next business day, but the renter is responsible for the car until officially checked in by the rental company staff.

  • Does the rental car need to be refueled before returning?

    The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as when it was picked up. If not, the cost of refueling will be at fuel rate decided by the rental company.

  • What is required to rent a car in the U.S. and Canada?

    A valid driver’s license and a credit card are required. In some cases, also a passport. If the home country driver's license is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e., alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver's Permit (IDP) is required.

  • Is it possible to take a driver’s license test using the rental car?

    Using the rental car for a driver’s license test is at the discretion of the rental office.
