    No, a down payment is not required

  • What documents are needed to start my lease?

    The following documents are required:
    • Copy of passport
    • Copy of driving license
    • Copy of work permit
    • Valid address in Thailand

  • I understand most cars in Thailand have manual transmission. Do you have cars with automatic transmissions available through your program?

  • What is the time frame for car delivery?

    New car order will take 3-9 months depending on manufacturer and model. Used car in stock generally delivers within 7 days.

Practical Information on Driving in Thailand

Speed Limits

Town and city: 60 km/h
Open Roads: 90 km/h
Motorways: 120 km/h.

Minimum Age

The minimum age to drive a motor vehicle is 18.

Documentation

A Thai document is required to drive in Thailand. In addition to the international driving license, certified copies (from the Thai Embassy or Immigration Police) of the passport and the page of the passport itself in which there is the entry stamp in Thailand must be presented

Alcohol and Driving

Don't do it! Under Thai law, drunk drivers can face fines of up to 200,000 baht and/or 10 years in jail plus suspension or revocation of their driving licenses.

Auto Insurance

All drivers must have third-party insurance at minimum, but it is advisable to have comprehensive insurance.

Phone and Driving

The Land Traffic Act modified in 2008 prohibits drivers from using mobile phones while driving, except in cases where a supplemental accessory such as a Bluetooth headset is used

Seat Belts

On April 5, 2017, a new law came into effect stating that passengers in the rear seat of a car are now required to wear seat-belts in addition to the driver and front seat passenger.

Driver's License

According to the UN Traffic Act of 1949 and the Thai Traffic Act of 1979, an IDP is not required if you are a tourist/visitor in Thailand as long as your license is in English, has a photo, and your country is a contracting state of the 1949 treaty, which most are.


How to Exchange your foreign driver’s license

For an international driver's license (Can only be done at The Department of Land Transport) An international driving license is accepted if it is valid, but a foreign license is not accepted in Thailand. If you are a resident and eligible, you should obtain a Thai Driver's License.
