Frequently Asked Bus & Shuttle Questions

  • What kind of transport vehicles can you provide?

    We can provide anything from a mini-bus, to a modest shuttle, to even passenger units that can carry over fifty people at once! If you have specific models in mind, feel free to let us know. We can't promise anything due to stock availability limitations, but we'll do our best to meet your request.

  • When should I begin booking?

    Ideally, reservations should be made two weeks before the planned service date. This is done to ensure that all the necessary arrangements can be finalized with our providers in the region.

  • Will rushed bookings still be accepted?

    Any booking that's delivered within 48 hours is counted as a rushed booking. It's challenging to coordinate these on such short notice, so higher fees will be charged for this service.

    For large groups that need bigger vehicles, we need more time to procure suitable models for your needs. You're still welcome to ask, but a rushed boking here can't be guaranteed. ExpatRide will tell you upfront if your request isn't feasible with current time constraints.

  • What's the protocol if group size changes?

    Changes in group headcount are handled depending on the nature of the shift, though clients are urged to update us as promptly as possible. Bringing this up within 24 hours of service delivery leaves us unable to make changes to the travel itinerary, so be sure to give advanced notice.

    A minor fluctuation in group size (+/- 1 person) incurs no additional costs or protocols, so long as the vehicle can still handle the current passenger headcount. Bigger changes warrant different responses. A drastic drop in passengers may have our representatives offer to book smaller vehicles on your behalf, with the opposite being done for if too many new passengers are added.

  • Do I need to present documents to bus/shuttle drivers before boarding?

    Clients don't need to worry about this, as our drivers are provided with the full list of passengers and the contact information for the primary passenger in charge. They may ask you to say your name before boarding, but there's no need to keep any credentials on hand for this.

  • Can I request for specific amenities (i.e. bathrooms on bus)

    Yes, buses with specific amenities like reclining seats, Wi-fi, bathrooms, and charging ports can be requested. We can't guarantee availability though, as we're dependent on the stock of the closest provider in your region.

    Booking the VIP package changes things though, as ExpatRide would be able to expand its selection pool to any provider in the region capable of procuring the vehicle - up to and including shipping them to your area!

  • Are pet transfers permitted?

    Pet transfers are perfectly fine during bus travel, but the pet in question must be placed inside of an appropriately-sized crate. If the animal leaves behind a mess, a cleaning fee will be added to the final billing statement.

  • Can customers request stopovers along the route?

    Unfortunately, spontaneous stopovers won't be entertained. Additional stops along the route must be shared at the time of booking so our driver can incorporate them into their travel schedule.
